Jennifer Nickoles Named Chief of Staff for the School of Medicine

Dear Colleagues:

It is with great pleasure that I announce the appointment of Jennifer Nickoles as the chief of staff for the school of medicine. Jennifer is stepping into this role following the departure of Chris White, who retires on June 30 after 39 years with Johns Hopkins, including 24 years at the school of medicine.

As chief of staff, Jennifer will work closely with me and school of medicine leadership, coordinating administrative and strategic functions and a broad scope of activities within the dean's office. She will also serve as my representative for the school of medicine in a number of functions.

Jennifer is no stranger to Johns Hopkins or the school of medicine, having earned her bachelor's and master's degrees from The Johns Hopkins University. She has worked in various capacities throughout the institution for close to 20 years. In her current role as director of the Office of Faculty Research Resources, Jennifer provides operational support to the school of medicine's core facilities in helping to create new resources for investigators and an enhanced research infrastructure. Prior to this position, Jennifer served as the assistant administrator for pulmonary and critical care medicine in the Department of Medicine. She has also held the positions of administrative manager, senior financial analyst and assistant in the Department of Medicine.

Jennifer's knowledge of the school of medicine; her strong history in operations, program development and administration; and her superb communication skills will serve her well in this new role. Please join me in congratulating Jennifer on this well-deserved appointment.
