Director of Student Pipeline Programs for the School of Medicine To the school of medicine Dear Colleagues, We are pleased to announce that Daniel Teraguchi will assume the newly created position of director of student pipeline programs, effective July 1. In this new role, Dr. Teraguchi will be responsible for the external outreach strategies and supporting activities of the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. The Office of Student Pipeline Programs will be an important function of the Office of the Vice Dean for Education, and its activities will be coordinated closely with the vice president of diversity and inclusion and chief diversity officer for Johns Hopkins Medicine. Dr. Teraguchi joined the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 2008 as assistant dean of student affairs and director of the Office of Student Diversity. In these roles, he led efforts to recruit and support diverse learners in the undergraduate medical and graduate biomedical programs, and brought needed attention to the school’s many student outreach programs. He has been a tireless advocate for diversity and cultural competency in recruitment, curriculum and student support, and has led many important diversity initiatives. In recognition of these accomplishments, Dr. Teraguchi received a Diversity Recognition Award from the Johns Hopkins Diversity Leadership Council last year. Dr. Teraguchi will now focus his activities on student outreach programs, which enable our school to help develop the next generation of leaders in biomedical science and the health professions, particularly those who are underrepresented in these fields. Please join us in congratulating Dr. Teraguchi as he assumes this important new role. Sincerely, Roy C. Ziegelstein, M.D., M.A.C.P. James E. Page Jr., M.B.A.
