Thank you for your dedication and compassion

Dear Colleagues:

The past few days have been devastating for Baltimore City—a community that Johns Hopkins Medicine has been part of for more than 125 years. During this unsettling time, we want you to know that we recognize your compassion and dedication. Thank you for putting the ongoing care of our patients first. Although our primary mission is to serve our patients, we are also very committed to our employees, many of whom live in the neighboring communities. We greatly appreciate all that you do, especially during a crisis.

Let us assure you that your safety is our priority. You care for our patients. We care for you. Our Security and Emergency Management teams, along with many others, have been in contact with local officials to monitor the situation, provide updates and deploy resources to ensure safety on the East Baltimore campus, including assistance from the Maryland National Guard and State Police. We will continue to provide you with the latest information as we receive it.

We hope all of you are safe, and we wish you continued safety in the coming days.

Please continue to stand strong and support each other. You are the backbone of Johns Hopkins Medicine, and you have our heartfelt thanks.
