Dependent Eligibility Verification Program

To Johns Hopkins Hospital and Johns Hopkins Health System Corporation managers

Dear Colleagues,

We would like to advise you that on Sept. 9, The Johns Hopkins Hospital, Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, Suburban Hospital, Sibley Memorial Hospital and The Johns Hopkins Health System Corporation will begin a dependent eligibility verification program conducted by HMS Employer Solutions, an independent auditing firm.

The Johns Hopkins Health System strives to preserve the benefits we offer to our employees and their dependents under our health care plans. A dependent eligibility verification program will help us continue to do that by ensuring that all dependents enrolled in our plans meet eligibility guidelines so that only eligible dependents are covered. 

All employees will be required to provide the necessary documents to HMS to verify their dependents.

Before HMS sends dependent eligibility verification letters to employees' homes with detailed instructions on what they need to do, the Department of Human Resources will notify employees by mail first. HMS will send reminder letters to those who do not complete the requirements by the specified date.
