David M. Yousem M.D., MBA, joins the Office of Faculty as Associate Dean for Professional Development

We are pleased to announce that David M. Yousem M.D., MBA, joined the Office of Faculty as Associate Dean for Professional Development on March 1. He will work with Vice Dean of Faculty Janice Clements and Interim Assistant Dean of Faculty Development Linda Dillon Jones to support the promotion and retention of faculty. David is the Director of Neuroradiology and Vice Chairman of Program Development in the Russell H. Morgan Department of Radiology and Radiological Science.

Dr. Yousem has worked extensively in the Department of Radiology on mentorship programs, career advisory panels, diversity initiatives, recruitment strategies, faculty policies and faculty satisfaction surveys. Dr. Yousem will also be working closely with Jennifer Haythornthwaite, Ph.D., who, with the late Lisa Heiser, developed programs for successful medical school mentors. Dr. Yousem will also help to create programs on mentee skill development to improve mentor-mentee relationships and to develop initiatives to provide more assistance and feedback to junior faculty who are submitting NIH grants.
