Linda Kline to direct Epic implementation

Dear Colleagues,

We're pleased to announce that Linda Kline, senior director of patient financial services, has agreed to take the position of executive director for the implementation of Epic, our planned Johns Hopkins Medicine-wide electronic health record system. This great news comes on the heels of getting financial approval from the trustees of Johns Hopkins Medicine and the Johns Hopkins Health System to proceed with Epic.

In her new role, which she begins immediately, Linda will provide executive oversight of the scope, cost, schedule and quality of the project, and she will report to the Epic executive committee. Specifically, she'll be the central point of contact and responsible for coordination for the project team, ensuring that the initiative stays on track, evaluating deliverables and allocating resources.

Linda brings rich experience to this position. She is a strong leader who has directed the patient finance operations for the Health System since 1999, including responsibility for the Central Business Office, which does the billing and accounts receivable management for The Johns Hopkins Hospital, Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center and Howard County General Hospital. In addition to her revenue cycle experience, she has held leadership positions in practice management, hospital operations in ambulatory and emergency services, radiology and pathology.

We're excited that Linda has accepted this position. She is committed to collaboration across our enterprise, and she is respectful of our business imperatives and our mission. She's a great communicator who is very thoughtful, yet decisive. She truly is a roll-up-her-sleeves-and-get-the-job-done kind of person.
