All Children's Takes an Important Step Toward Integration with Hopkins

Dear Colleagues,

We're pleased to announce that the board of All Children's Health System has approved a planned integration with Johns Hopkins Medicine. This unanimous vote is an important step, and we look forward to the final regulatory approval and closing date, which should take approximately 60 days. We'll continue to keep you updated on developments.

We join the leadership of the St. Petersburg, Fla.-based All Children's in viewing this integration as an opportunity that allows both partners to continue our respective mission-centric work in children's health care. We believe it increases All Children's value as a key community asset, extending benefits near and beyond to the children in need of top-notch clinical care by adding the advantages that the world-class teaching and research opportunities of Johns Hopkins Medicine will bring. We also strongly believe we can help All Children's achieve its aspiration of becoming a premier pediatric academic medical center.

All Children's Hospital will retain its name and its longstanding commitment to the children of Florida. Donations made to the hospital's foundation will remain for the benefit of All Children's. Leadership and day-to-day operation of the 259-bed freestanding pediatric hospital and outreach facilities in eight West Florida counties are not expected to change as a result of the integration.
