February 1, 2011 Dear Colleagues, Michael E. Zenilman has joined Johns Hopkins Medicine as the vice chair and regional director of surgery. In this newly created position, Zenilman will oversee surgery services delivered at Johns Hopkins Medicine's community hospitals—Howard County General Hospital, Sibley Memorial Hospital and Suburban Hospital—and at its ambulatory locations. He will work with leaders at the hospitals to develop a regional health care delivery system in which safety, quality and service standards in surgical care at each location are among the best in the field. Zenilman, a gastrointestinal surgeon and specialist in geriatric surgery, will also operate a clinical practice out of Suburban Hospital. Sincerely, Julie A. Freischlag, M.D.
