March 19, 2010 Ted Dawson Appointed Scientific Director of ICE It is with great pleasure that we announce Ted Dawson as the scientific director of the Institute for Cell Engineering. In this new position, Ted will further expand the robust research program at ICE and establish much-needed services to the stem cell research community at Johns Hopkins and beyond. In addition, Ted will continue to co-direct the neuroregeneration section of ICE. In this post, he has developed—along with Valina Dawson—a vibrant research program that has achieved many successes, including generating induced pluripotent stem cells derived from patients with neurogenetic disease and identifying molecular signals involved in neural stem cell development. The Leonard and Madlyn Abramson Professor in Neurodegenerative diseases and a leading expert in Parkinson’s diseases and neurodegenerative disorders, Ted is a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and a member of the Association of American Physicians. Join us in welcoming Ted to this new role. Sincerely, Edward D. Miller, M.D.
