As the launch of HopkinsOne approaches, we want you to know how much
we appreciate the extraordinary work everyone has been doing to make
this happen.
HopkinsOne will streamline a lot of our business workflows, routing
things like travel and purchasing approvals automatically. We’ll
be able to know how much money we’re spending on products and
services to better leverage our purchasing power. And we’ll learn
that the new system has best practices and efficiencies built right
in.
Still, we understand that many people are wondering whether the new
system will really work and how long it will take to learn all the
new terms and new ways of doing things. The new system will work. The
SAP software is used across the globe, and it’s been configured
and tested thoroughly here at Johns Hopkins.
We do not expect that everyone will be able to execute all transactions
perfectly on day one. It will take some practice. To help, HopkinsOne
has established a go-live help desk number, 410-735-4500, to provide
assistance if you need it. Additionally, several hundred of your colleagues
have stepped up to provide hands-on help.
Thank you for your continued commitment to the successful implementation
of the new SAP system.
Sincerely,
William R. Brody, President, The Johns Hopkins University
Edward D. Miller, Dean of the Medical Faculty, CEO, John Hopkins Medicine
Ronald R. Peterson, President, Johns Hopkins Health System
