August 29, 2006 Dear Colleagues, We’re inviting you to make a difference in the lives of high school students struggling to find motivation and direction. With a time commitment equivalent to two half-days, you can influence and inspire 100 community students to pursue their dreams, opening up a life of opportunity. The Maryland Business Roundtable for Education is looking for “young at heart,” enthusiastic, articulate working people from various careers and educational, ethnic and cultural backgrounds to help deliver the Achievement Counts message. The Achievement Counts Speakers Bureau is a growing cadre of volunteers who talk with high school freshmen in their classrooms about the importance of education and the opportunities it can create for their future. Over the past six years, more than 300,000 middle and high school students throughout Maryland have been encouraged by thousands of professionals like you. It’s easy to become a volunteer speaker:
To register online or for more information, visit www.mbrt.org/speak or contact LaTara Harris at the Maryland Business Roundtable for Education at 410-727-0448 or latara@mbrt.org. The next generation looks to you for guidance and direction. Don’t miss this opportunity to help shape the future. We know that you will find the experience rewarding. Thank you for giving your time to this very worthy cause. Sincerely, Pamela Paulk |
