September 27, 2005 Dear Colleagues: It is my distinct pleasure to invite you to join the Nov. 1 celebration in Turner Auditorium marking the milestone of promoting more than 100 women to the status of full professor at the School of Medicine since its founding. The celebration will include a symposium featuring 2004 Nobel Laureate Linda Buck as keynote speaker, JAMA editor-in-chief and former Hopkins faculty member Catherine DeAngelis, Cokie Roberts of ABC News and more than a dozen of Johns Hopkins' leading women physicians and scientists speaking about women's contributions at Hopkins or discussing their own research. The symposium is intended for all school of medicine faculty, trainees, graduate and medical students and interested staff, but all are welcome. The program is available online at http://100womengala.onc.jhmi.edu, and registration is required but free. I hope you are able to share in marking this important milestone in Johns Hopkins history. Sincerely, |
