July 28, 2005 Dear Colleagues: There are several personnel changes occurring within the School of Medicine Human Resources team that I'd like to announce: Paulette Hynson has announced retirement plans effective August 16. After spending over 30 years with Johns Hopkins Hospital and Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, she plans to focus on her family, including a new grandson. She has agreed to stay on in a part time position providing employee relations consultation services on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings starting August 16th. Don Boswell has been promoted to Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine Employment Manager. Don will pick up the employment duties that Paulette previously held for many years. Don will report directly to me. For the foreseeable future, he will also continue his compensation duties. Bobvita Salters joins us as the new Sr. Compensation Analyst, filling the position previously held by Linda Shinagawa. Bobvita has worked in various HR positions at both Morgan State and at the University of Maryland. Finally, Shawn Celio will return (at a date yet to be determined) in an Assistant Director vacancy. In that role, he will handle employee relations and will also be actively involved in moving the School of Medicine into SAP as the various segments roll out in 2006, 2007 and beyond. There is a lot of change going on in our environment and in our own office. I am delighted to ask you to join me in congratulating each of the individuals named above. Paulette will hear this time and time again, but what's one more time: there is just no way to express my heartfelt gratitude and friendship for all the dedication and hard work she has offered Hopkins over the past three plus decades!
