Dear Colleagues:

It is with great pleasure that we announce the appointment of Lauree Barreca as the new JHM Claims Attorney. Lauree has an extensive professional liability background encompassing captive insurance company experience, professional liability claims management, risk management education and claims attorney oversight. Ms. Barreca is a nurse and Assistant Professor in Healthcare Risk Management at the Chicago Medical School and has published numerous articles and given many speeches on health related claims and risk management issues.

Ms. Barreca is expected to begin her duties on August 15, 2005, overlapping by two weeks the able services of Adrienne Auryansen, a professional liability consultant from New York who has served as the acting Claims Attorney for the last several months.

Please take the opportunity to welcome Ms. Barreca when she arrives and bid a fond farewell to Ms. Auryansen as she returns to New York.
