June 21, 2005 Dear Colleagues: I am delighted to tell you that Ken Grant has been appointed to Vice President, Supply Chain Management for the Johns Hopkins Health System. This is in addition to Ken's current position as Vice President for General Services at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. With the expansion of Ken's responsibilities, he will now direct the Health System's corporate purchasing and materials distribution, Bayview's materials management program, and mail services for all of Johns Hopkins while continuing to direct the general services component of The Johns Hopkins Hospital. Ken will also have administrative oversight for the JHHS supply chain activity evolving from the HopkinsOne Initiative. Since joining Hopkins in 1992 as Senior Director of Corporate Materials Management, Ken has consistently – and successfully – tackled many challenges that come with directing 1,000 employees and a $45 million operation. With his aggressive approach and shrewd knowledge of the market, Ken has lead his team in forging valuable corporate purchasing partnerships and saving Hopkins millions of dollars a year in the process. We know Ken will bring the same commitment to excellence to his new role. Please join me in congratulating Ken. Judy A. Reitz, Sc.D.
