October 26, 2004 Dear Colleagues: The Office of the Provost and the Animal Care and Use Committee will host a Town Meeting for Animal Research 2004 in Tilghman Room, Turner Building, East Baltimore on Thursday November 4, 2004 from 9 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. Key institutional officials will provide salient updates on the state of and future directions of the animal care program at Johns Hopkins University. Please attend to learn about program developments and provide feedback. The IACUC would like to remind principal investigators that all individuals working with animals must be listed on an approved protocol. To add an individual to a protocol download and complete the personnel amendment form located at http://www.jhu.edu/animalcare/forms1.html Submit completed forms to the IACUC Office. Individuals requesting access to animal facilities must be on an approved protocol. In preparation for the upcoming semiannual inspections the IACUC will present a seminar "Semiannual Inspections: What Does It Mean For You?" on Thursday Oct. 28 at noon in Ross 403. The Inspection schedule is included below. Date Time Location An Animal Handling class will be held Tuesday November 9, 2004 at 9.00 in Ross 450. Class size is limited to 10 people.
