November 17, 2003 Dear Colleagues, On Monday, the JHH Department of Nursing learned that we have received the Magnet Recognition Award for Excellence. Congratulations to all Hopkins employees! With this accolade, we became the first and only health care organization in Maryland to receive this unique and special tribute to the quality of our nurses and our patient care. It is not possible to achieve the high standards of Magnet Recognition without the dedication and hard work of our faculty and staff. It takes a team! The Department of Nursing thanks all of the Hopkins community for your support of nursing and your commitment to working together to assure the highest quality of patient care. Our achievement marks the end of a rigorous application and site visit process. This is not a static, one-time award, however, and we are committed to ensuring that Hopkins Nursing meets, and sets, the highest quality standards in nursing and patient care. Thank you very much for helping us bring this national award to Hopkins Nursing, recognizing our excellence. Sincerely, Karen B. Haller, PhD, RN |
