May 2, 2003 Dear Colleagues: Congratulations! Hopkins remains in first place among awards to medical schools according to the NIH ranking table released on May 1. The Hopkins SOM awards amounted to $382,006,714 for the 2002 federal fiscal year of October 1, 2001 to September 30, 2002 (an 11.7% increase over 2001). This was $34.3M more than 2nd place University of Pennsylvania.
