Today: State of Johns Hopkins Medicine Address and 125th Anniversary Celebrations

Please join me for my annual State of Johns Hopkins Medicine address today, Tuesday, Oct. 2, from noon to 1 p.m. in Turner Auditorium. All faculty members, staff members, students, residents and postdocs are invited to hear updates on the enterprise's progress on advancing the strategic priorities, an overview of the 2019-2023 strategic plan and the ongoing commitment to patient- and family-centered care. I will also share updates about our educational advances and the significant research discoveries this year at Johns Hopkins Medicine.

For your convenience, you will have the opportunity to view the simulcast from your mobile device or desktop computer.

Additionally, we continue to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. After the State of Johns Hopkins Medicine address, I invite you to stay for several other events taking place that afternoon to recognize the past, present and future of Johns Hopkins Medicine.

125th Anniversary on the Concourse
1 p.m., Turner Concourse
Join us for anniversary cake, and take a few moments to tour the 125th Anniversary Pop-Up Exhibit—following the State of Johns Hopkins Medicine address.

Living History: 125 Years of Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine
2–4 p.m., West Reading Room, Welch Medical Library
Attend a celebration of the school of medicine's history, including a performance of William Osler's literary worlds, an international panel of historians presenting stories from the Alan Chesney Medical Archives and a panel discussion of faculty members from the newly opened Academy at Johns Hopkins, who will provide their own perspectives on the living history of the institution.

Opening of the Academy at Johns Hopkins
4–5:30 p.m., West Reading Room, Welch Medical Library
Invited faculty can attend the opening of the academy, which will support the continued research, teaching and service of retired faculty at the school of medicine, the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing.

I look forward to sharing highlights of the incredible work you have all contributed to over the past year and celebrating our institution's rich history. Thank you in advance for taking time out of your day to attend.

Sincerely,

Paul B. Rothman, M.D.
Dean of the Medical Faculty
