Realignment of JHM Finance and Supply Chain Operations To the Johns Hopkins Medicine community Dear Colleagues, On Wednesday, I announced that Ron Werthman, senior vice president and chief financial officer for Johns Hopkins Medicine, will retire at the end of the calendar year. Ron will shift his focus to several important key projects through December, including the year-end close and our forthcoming bond issuance. We will therefore immediately move into our succession plan. Kevin Sowers, president of the Johns Hopkins Health System and executive vice president of Johns Hopkins Medicine, assumed direct oversight of the supply chain division of the Department of Finance as of Aug. 1. Kevin will work with the group to ensure we continue to leverage our purchase of supplies, services and capital equipment in support of patient care, while obtaining the best possible value. Also effective Aug. 1, Robert Kasdin assumed the duties of Johns Hopkins Medicine's chief financial officer, in addition to continuing his role as chief operating officer. Please join me in thanking Kevin and Robert for taking on these additional responsibilities and Ron for his years of distinguished service. Sincerely, Paul B. Rothman, M.D. |
