Corrected Johns Hopkins Annual Security Report NOTICE OF AVAILABILITY Dear Members of the Johns Hopkins Community: We have discovered a couple of errors in the previous version of the Johns Hopkins University's 2017 Annual Security and Fire Safety Report, released on Sept. 28, 2018. That version had incorrect numbers printed in the crime statistic charts for 2015 rapes on Homewood campus and 2016 motor vehicle thefts on East Baltimore campus. We apologize if these errors caused any confusion. These errors have been fixed and the corrected version of the report is now available. This report is prepared by the university in compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Crime Statistics Act (commonly known as the "Clery Act"). It is intended to disseminate important information regarding campus safety and related policies and procedures to the Johns Hopkins community. All faculty, staff and students are encouraged to read the report, available on the university Campus Safety and Security website at security.jhu.edu/_template-assets/documents/annual_report.pdf. A printed copy of the report may be obtained from the following security offices or personnel: Homewood (410-516-4631); Peabody Institute (667-208-6608); Medical Institutions (410-614-3473); Applied Physics Laboratory (443-778-4805); Harbor East Campus (410-234-9301); Columbia Center (410-516-9700); SAIS Bologna Center (202-663-5808, Int. +39.051.2917.811); Washington Centers - KSAS (202-663-5808), SAIS (202-663-5808), Carey Business School (202-663-5808); Hopkins-Nanjing Center (202-663-5808, Int. +86.25.8359.2436); Montgomery County Campus (301-294-7011) and Barcelona, Spain (Int. +34.93.542.25.99). The report contains, for the three most recent calendar years, statistics regarding certain crimes that occurred on campus, in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by the university or an officially recognized student organization, and on public property within or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus. The report also contains campus security policy statements, including those related to missing student notifications, alcohol and drug use, sexual assault, relationship violence and stalking, fire safety, crime prevention, and information on how students, faculty and staff should report crimes. The university's data, along with comparable information from other colleges and universities, is published electronically by the U.S. Department of Education. This data can be viewed at ope.ed.gov/security. For more information about safety and security at Johns Hopkins, please visit us at security.jhu.edu or contact us at 410-516-4600.
