Take a stand by walking together in the upcoming Heart Walk

Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of the American Heart Association (AHA) and Johns Hopkins Medicine, I would like to invite you to take part in fighting heart disease and stroke at the upcoming Heart Walk. Johns Hopkins has a long history of supporting the Greater Maryland Heart Walk. This year's Heart Walk will take place on Saturday, Oct. 14, at the Camden Yards Sports Complex.

Heart disease and stroke are the two leading causes of death worldwide and, to many of us, these diseases represent a personal struggle. Whether for ourselves, our families, our friends and/or colleagues, our collective support can make a true difference in the diagnosis and treatment of these diseases. Your donation to the AHA for the Heart Walk helps fund research and education, our most powerful weapons in the fight.

The AHA is working to improve the health of Marylanders through their Healthy For Good campaign. This revolutionary movement is designed to inspire our communities to create lasting change in their health and life, one small step at a time. The approach is simple: Eat smart. Add color. Move more. Be well. How can you be a conduit for this kind of health impact in the areas we serve? Create a Heart Walk team under the Johns Hopkins umbrella.

  • Click here to visit the Johns Hopkins Heart Walk team page.
  • Create a team and recruit your friends, family and colleagues to participate in an event focused on overall health and wellness.

Keep in mind that if you register now for the Heart Walk, you will receive a commemorative Hopkins T-shirt. Don't forget to make it personal by posting your inspiration and photos to social media using #MDHeartWalk to show the community what we are doing with and for them.

If you have any questions, please contact our AHA representative, Danielle Clifford-Earles, at Danielle.Clifford@heart.org.

The only way we can spread the word is by taking a stand and walking together, because life matters. Thank you for your support.

Sincerely,

Charlie Reuland, Sc.D.
Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer
The Johns Hopkins Hospital
Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center

P.S. As an incentive, every $25 you give or get between Tuesday, Aug. 22, and the end of the day on Thursday, Aug. 24, will enter you to win four tickets to the Ravens football game on Saturday, Aug. 26.
