Mark Hingtgen Named Chief Financial Officer for the School of Medicine To the Johns Hopkins Medicine presidents, vice presidents, officers, management committee and corporate staff; and school of medicine faculty and staff Dear Colleagues: It is with great pleasure that we announce the appointment of Mark J. Hingtgen as the Vice President for Johns Hopkins Medicine and Chief Financial Officer for the School of Medicine, effective Sept. 15. Mark will report to the three of us and have responsibility for setting the strategic financial direction of the school of medicine and developing and executing a sustainable financial model that anticipates and responds to the opportunities and challenges inherent in the academic environment. With over 28 years of operational and financial experience within academic medical centers, Mark comes to Johns Hopkins from the University of Iowa Health Care where he currently serves as assistant vice president for finance. In this position, he has been a key member of the senior financial team, with oversight of the strategic financial planning, accounting, budgeting and capital investment planning. We appreciate the work and expertise of the Search Committee in selecting Mark from so many qualified candidates from across the country.
