Kristena Lukish Named Vice President of Human Resources for The Johns Hopkins Hospital To employees of The Johns Hopkins Hospital and Health System Corporation Dear Colleagues, We are delighted to announce that Kristena Lukish will join The Johns Hopkins Hospital on March 20 as our new vice president of human resources. In this role, Kris will help recruit, develop and support our employees while fostering the highest quality of care for our patients and their families. Kris joins The Johns Hopkins Hospital with more than 25 years of experience in health care. Most recently, she was with the West Florida Division of the Hospital Corporation of America. There, she served as the regional vice president of human resources for the health system’s 18,000 employees, 16 hospitals and 12 surgery centers. Kris has an impressive record as a strategic, high-energy and empathetic leader. While at the Hospital Corporation of America, she collaborated with leaders across the system to implement a number of strategic initiatives, policies and programs. She led the acquisition of four hospitals, which included the transition of pay, recruitment and hiring practices, and policies to one system. She also initiated the annual leadership talent assessment to aid in succession planning and employee development. Kris has distinguished herself as a strong leader in several other senior human resources positions, including serving as a vice president at Chippenham Johnston-Willis Medical Center in Richmond, Virginia, and as director of human resources for Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany, Indiana. A native of West Virginia, Kris earned her B.S. in business administration and her M.S. in industrial relations from West Virginia University. She is an active member of the Executive Board for CareerSource Tampa Bay, which offers career planning services to support economic development in Tampa Bay. She received her senior professional in human resources certification in 2009. We would also like to thank Laurice Royal for graciously assuming the additional responsibilities of interim vice president of human resources for the past three months. Her guidance in ensuring the hospital continued to excel in efforts to attract, engage, develop and retain the world’s best people demonstrated exemplary leadership. Sincerely, Redonda G.
