Joy in Medicine the Focus of the Johns Hopkins Medicine Town Meeting on March 9 To Johns Hopkins Medicine community While many of us derive great fulfillment from our work, the responsibility to navigate electronic medical record systems and other new technologies, address the many changes in regulatory requirements and policies, and find balance between the demands of our work and our personal lives can, at times, lead to feelings of stress or dissatisfaction. The next Johns Hopkins Medicine Town Meeting on Thursday, March 9, from noon to 1 p.m. in The Johns Hopkins Hospital’s Hurd Hall will focus on joy in medicine. Ronald R. Peterson, president of the Johns Hopkins Health System and executive vice president of Johns Hopkins Medicine, will provide an overview of the Joy in Medicine initiative. Janice Clements, vice dean for faculty for the school of medicine, and Bill Baumgartner, vice dean for clinical affairs for the school of medicine, leaders of the Joy in Medicine Task Force, will lead a panel discussion on strategies to address pressures, particularly among clinicians; resources to help employees succeed in their careers; and how we can enhance the culture and work-life balance. Other panel members include:
