To the Johns Hopkins Medicine community

Dear Colleagues,

Today, I am excited to announce that six prominent health systems have agreed to be equity investors in the Medicare managed care health plans that Johns Hopkins HealthCare first offered this year—Advantage MD and Advantage MD Plus. The six health systems—Adventist HealthCare, Anne Arundel Medical Center, Frederick Regional Health System, LifeBridge Health, Mercy Medical Center and Peninsula Regional Medical Center—now have a direct financial stake in the success of our plans.

The unusual partnership with other health systems that are not part of the Johns Hopkins "family" is the latest example of how Johns Hopkins HealthCare is thinking outside of the box to transform how health care is delivered.

I believe these partnerships promote a highly collaborative, provider-led approach to offering health plan benefit services to individuals eligible for Medicare coverage in Maryland. Once again, Johns Hopkins has led the way in facilitating health system transformation that we can all take pride in.
